PROBABLE CANDIDATES
The forthcoming election of Mayor and councillors for the borough or le Kuiti is to take place on April 30ih, and considerable interest is being evinced in the event by the rateP Tor S the office of Mayor there is at present only one candidate in the field in the person of Mr J- Boddie A strong requisition, signed by the present Mayor and ° unn s ""l', "J! presented to Mr Boddie asking him to stand fur the position, and Mr Boddie consented. Judging from P rese " appearances it is likely that Mi Boddie will be returned ° no PP°" d - , Two members of the present council in Messrs J. Tammadge and E U r-al-wasser, do not intend to seek re-elec-gfcion, but it is understood the remaining members will again be nominated. r in addition it is probable Mr E. H. Hardy will again stand for the council, while the names of Messrs A. F. Howarth, R. H. Webber, D J. Young and MJ. Jones, are mentioned as likely candidates. Up to the pre sent no other candidates have been definitely mentioned, but there are indications that the field will be numerically strong on election day.
