OPENING NATIVE LANDS.
FREEHOLD AND LEASEHOLD. 14,82?. ACRES OFFERED. The settlement of the district should be increased materially by the disposal of several blocks of native-owned lands by the Waikato-Maniapoto District Maori Land Board. The sale has been fixed for May 21st next, at Te Kuiti. The land to be disposed of totals nearly fifteen thousand acres, and the majority u£ the sections are to be offered for sale. Sections to the number of twenty-six averaging in area from three hundred to eleven hundred acres and aggregating about thirteen thousand acres are situated in the Kawhia South district. These are to be sold outright, the values placed on them ranging from 25s to 45s per acre. Four sections aggregating about two thousand acres situated in Managoorongo, Wharlepuhungu, and Otianake districts are to be offered for lease, the upset price ranging from 9d to 4s per acre, the latter valuation being placed on a section of 197 acres at Maraetaua, about seven miles from Te Kuiti. '
