HANGATIKI-WAITOMO ROAD.
The Editor. Sir, —In respect to the above road it i 3 only reasonable for the ratepayers to expect the Waitomo County Council to do something to prevent heavy loads being carried during the coming wet weather. It must be admitted by both settler and carrier that it would be to their advantage if loads were restricted to one ton until the metal has had time to consolidate. Owing to heavy carting during the recent wet weather much damage has already been done to the metalled portion of the road, and unless some restriction is made the consequences are likely to be serious.—l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
