Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: — We held our monthly sale in the Ohaupo yards on 10th inst., when we had a small yarding. We quote:— Fat cows £5 to £6 7s, empty cow 3 £3
17s to £4, yearling heifers £3 18a 6d, yearling steers £2 15s to £3 10s, small calves 225, weaner pigs 9s. We held our fortnightly sale in thß Ohaupo yards on 11th inst., when we had a fair yarding. Bidding was dull throughout, but we disposed of most of the lines offered privately after the sale. We quote: Three year steers £5 8s to £5 Is, two and a half year steers £4 14s to £5, eighteen months steers £3 18s, empty cows £3 15s to £3 19s, fat cows £6 ss, cows with calves £5 2s Gd, calves 30s to 455, sDringers £5 to £5 ss. The "Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co.. Ltd , report: — On March 11th and 12th we held our annual autumn horse £air, when wo had over the advertised number brought forward. There was a really good demand for good draughts, and prices were equal to spring rates. Light horses were of a very poor class hardly a decent horse in the lot, consequently the sale was a poor one. Good sorts hackß or light harness were required and anything of a fair class sold well. Heavy draughts four to six years made £3B to £47, medium draughts three to five years £33 10s to £4O, medium draughts seven to ten years £2O to £3O, spring cart sorts up to £25, decent hacks and light harness sorts £l3 to £lB, lighter sorts £lO downwards.
