AWAKINO ELECTION.
MESSRS PATTERSON AND THOMS ELECTED. Maroknpa, This Day. By Telegraph.--Own Correspondent. The election of councillors for the Northern riding of Awakino County evoked considerable interest on Monday, 166 votes being recorded. A feature of the polling at Kiriteherc, Mangaohae and Mangaotaki wan the blockvoting for Messrs Patterson and Thorns. Following are the results: — Patterson 69, Thorns M, WociHoa 2!), Stanley IT. The first meeting of the council is to take place at Awakino on March 22nd.
