DR CHARCOT RECALLS A CON-

VERSATION.

Dr Charcot, the French Polar explorer, in referring to the Antarctic disaster, recalls a conversation that he had with the late ;Captain Scott, in which the latter asked him: "What would be your last wish if you were fated to die in the Antarctic? Would you prefer your body to be brought to Europe or for it to rest beneath the snow?"

When Ur Charcot replied: "1 would prefer to be buried on the field of battle," Captain Scott answered, "And 1 also."
