IN TOUCH WITH MAWSON.

MESSAGE PROM THE ANTARCTIC. liy Telegraph.-•• Vnjhs Am«iriation. Uujiyriglit Ilobart, Tuesday. Mawson s Adelio Land bane in the Antarctic has succeeded in getting into wireless communication with tho station on the Macquan-ien. Communication was established yesterday, and it is expected that fuller messages will be received shortly. Considerable delay was caused in tho perfecting of the wireless chain which Dr Mawson, the Australian who ia now carrying out scientific investigations in the Antarctic, had established between his base in t.ho frozen south and Hobart. The station at tho Macquarries, even though it is equipped with a tiny outfit ol a very low power, has accomplished results which have surprised tho Tho chain was broken by an accident to an essential part of the plant, with tho Adelie land party. This has evidently now been repaired, and lor the first time messages have been Hashed from within the Arctic, circle.
