—————<►♦♦♦ A CHANGE ADVOCATED. There are indications that a movement in the direction of having tho hospital levies " collected from tho people generally instead of from tho ratepayers only is to be inaugurated. At last meeting of thu Waitomo County Council a circular letter was read from the Bruce County Council in respect to the method of levying contributions to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board and requesting tho council's consideration of the following resolution : "That this council is of opinion that contribution:; to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards should be made from the Consolidated Fund in lieu of the present system of making levies on local bodies." No action was taken in the respct to the circular.
