It is officially announced that the village of Bardanjoli, dominating Scutari from the eastward, haa been captuerd after a fierce onslaught.

The allies' force comprised 40,000 Montenegrins and 20,000 Servians. Opposed to them in defence of the town were 12,000 regulars and some irregulars.

Fighting was continued throughout Friday night and Saturday. At sunrise on Sunday fighting was resumed along the whole front. The Montenegrins made three assaults on Bardanjoli. The town held out through yesterday, but was captured next morning. The wounded relate terrible stories. They pay a tribute to the heroic courage of the Turks. The Montenegrins casualties totalled 2500, while the Turks lost 2000 men.

ADRIANOPLFS' SURRENDER. CHUKRI PASHAS' PRICE. WOULD KILL EVERY BULGAR. Vienna, Monday. The Constantinople correspondent of the Neue Freie Presse reports that when Chukri Pasha, Commander-in-Chief at Adrianople, heard that the neutralisation of Adrianople was contemplated, he sent a wireless message stating that he would sooner sacrifice his last man than surrender one of the strongest fortresses in the world. "If further resistance is useless," he declared, "I shall take care to put the 40,000 Bugarians who are living here out of the way. I shall confide the women and children to the foreign Consuls, turn the guns on all the Bulgarians, and then convert Adrianople into a gigantic rubbish heap." The inhabitants of Adrianople are fleeing from one quarter to another seeking Bhelter from the shells with which the city is being bombarded by the allies.
