AN OCEAN MYSTERY.
FLOATING ABOUT UNDAMAGED. WITHOUT A SOUL ABOARD. By Telegraph—Press Association .--Copyxißlit New York, Thursday. Captain Claridge, o£ the steamer Roumania, reports the loss of the Norweigan barque Remittent. The barque was found with all sails set. but undamaged, in mid-Atlantic. There /was no trace of a single soul aboard, although evidently the vessel had been vacated only a few hours when found. Captain Claridg6 took the Remittent in tow, but lost her in a terrific gale. It iB unknown if she foundered. Captain Claridge's story was disbelieved at first, but was afterwards substantiated. The case recalls that of the Marie Celeste, which was found floating in mid-ocean with ber cargo and papers in-order and atl sail set, but without a soul on board.
