TENNIS.

The committee of the TeKuiti Tennis Club met in the Chronicle office on Wednesday afternoon last. A challenge was received from the Mangapetai Club for the Howard Shield, the match to be played on the local courts on February Ist.—The challenge was accepted but the secretary was asked to mention, when accepting the challenge, that his committee thought it would be advisable to delay the match until after rain as the courts were very dry and dusty. Mr A. S. Laird was appointed delegate to attend the meeting of the King Country Association at Taumarunui on January 24th.

A letter was received from the Te Awamutu Club, asking for a match at Te Awamutu on February Ist It was decided to endeavour to alter the date as the club could not send a team on February Ist. The following players will represent Te Kuiti in their match against Hamilton, at Hamilton on January 29th—Messrs Kelso, McCarthy, Barton, Semmens, Clapham and Robinson. Donations towards the club's funds were received from Mr A. Julian and Mr H. R. McDonald. A vote of thanks was passed to these gentlemen.

Several accounts were passed for payment.
