METHODIST CHURCH.

The usual quarterly meeting of the above church was held on Monday evening, when there was a good attendance of members. After the usual opening exercises the business of the evening was proceeded with. The Rev. R. B. Goanell, who had previously received a hearty invitation to remain in the circuit, announced hi 3 inability to do so. The finance of the circuit is in a healthy condition, and the reports of the superintendent of the Sunday schools showed good work being done in" this department. It was decided to hold the church anniversary on March 30th, the Sunday school anniversary to be arranged later on. Mr M. H. Wilton and Mr J. Nicholls were re-appointed circuit stewards for the ensuing year, and Mr Wilton was appointed delegate to the annual conference in Wellington next month. It was decided to commence services at Rangitoto, Mr Gosnell to visit the district and make arrangements for Scwne at an early date. A letter of appreciation was directed to be forwarded to Mr T. Steele, who had been transferred to the Tauranga post office, for his services whilst in the circuit. Messrs Sheffield and Mudgway were welcomed- to the district. After several matters.of importance were fully discussed the meeting closed in the usual manner.
