South Australia in the second innings scored 412 runs, Gehrs 25, Mayne 67, Hill 77, Chamberlain 39, Campbell 43, Moyes 95. New South Wales thus won by 84 run.

In the firt innings New South Wales amassed the formidable total of 513 —Macartney 125, and Trumper 201 not out, being chief contributors. South Australia replied with 331, lern Hill scoring 138. New South Wales in the second innings scored 315, Macartney 96 and Bardsley 90 being top scorers. South Australia made a gallant attempt to avert defeat, but failed to reach the huge total required. \
