The death of the Duke of Abercorn creates a vacancy in the representation of Londonderry in the House of the present Unionist member being the Marquis of Hamilton, eldest son and heir of the late Duke. If the Nationalists recapture the seat they will have a majority in the representation of Ulster. Colonel Parkenham, officer commanding the London Irish Rifles, will be the Unionist candidate, and Mr Shane Leslie, Mr Winston Churchill's cousin, who waß defeated at the lMt election, will be the Nationalist candidate.
