THE PEACE CONFERENCE.
TERMS DISCUSSED
TURKEY TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS. Constantinople, Thursday. The situation in regard to the Balkan Peace Conference and the demands of the Allies have been discussed by the Turkish Government. It is understood that the Turkish delegates have been instructed to submit counter proposals when the conference resumes. The counter proposals include the retention by Turkey of Adrianople (which is now invested by the Bulgarians) and Salonika and Seres (in Macedonia), which have already been occupied by the Allies. The press is unanimous in expressing the opinion that it is impossible for the Porte to accept any terms of a settlement of the Balkan war which do not provide for the retention of Adrianople by Turkey. Enver Bey (the Young Turk leader), who has recently returned to Turkey from Tripoli, has visited the officers at Chataldja. He made a stirring appeal to them to abandon party factions. THE TURKS DISSATISFIED. Received Dacember 28, 12.40 a.m. Constantinople, Friday. The public are disagreeably surprised at the Allies' terms, having been under the belief that the League was breaking up and the Bulgarians would be glad of peac* at any prio.
