Tha Power of Love. (Next Menday and Tnesday)—Gunner Brian is the son of a director of a large business firm. He is in his private room supposed to be studying, but in reality passing his time away by smoking and drinking. After getting some cash, Gunner drives that night to the city, and meets a number of young fellows, and together with female friends, they drive a cafe and order supper, By some decree of fate Mr Brian's meeting is held in the same cafs in a room immediately above that of where the young patspots are. After the meeting the members decide to have supper and descend to the best of the young fellows is intoxicated. Next morning the father decides to bring Gunner to his office, and places him at a desk of Tony, a pretty dark girl clerk. They fall in love with each other. One night when setting out to keep an appointment with Tony, he meets two of his old associates, who. lead him to the public house. When he comes out ha is hopelessly drunk, while poor Tony has gone home in despair. Next morning at the office, Gunner's place is vacant, and Tony tells her employer and Gunner's father, of what hapened the night before. In the evening he arrives and begs for another chance but is refused. He goes to bid guod-bye to Tony, and answers an application to join the Life Brigade. Tony having spent her vacation with a relative, wires Gunner that she will be home that evening, and later, to Gunner's horror, he hears that the- train she is travelling by has had a disaster. He, together with the other members of the brigade, go to the rescue. We see him come across the inaminate body of Tony. The final scene shows a reconciliation between Gunner and his father.
