The Balkan allies seem to have settled their differences, and it is now anticipated that all will participate in the negotiations for peace commencing in London a week hence. The Greeks deny the story of their light with the Bulgars at Seres. A desperate attempt to capture Adrianople wan made just before the armistice was signed, the allies bringing all their guns to bear on the town. Chukri Pasha refused to surrender, and at midnight came the order to cease firing. An American doctor who escaped from the town reports that half the houses have been burned as a result of the shots (ircd by the besiegers. The dead are being thrown into the flooded Maritza, and he predicts a pestilence when the waters subside. There is some excitement in Vienna over the financial precautions by the Government, and it is evident that the relations with Servia are not yet satisfactorily as the Government desires. The Greeks bombarded Valona, the headquarters of the Albanian Provisional Government., but desisted on the appeal of Ismail Kemal Bey, the president.
