SYDNEY COUNCIL ELECTIONS. By Telesrapli—Press Association.- CopyriKlU Sydney, Tuesday. Much interest was taken in the Sydney municipal Labour made a bold bid to capture the Council, running candidates Cor ail the seats. The chief feature \va3 the defeat of Sir Allen Taylor, ex-Lord Mayor, whose seat was captured by Mr McGee, a member of the Assembly. The Liberals not only succeeded in holding their own, but captured a seat from Labour. The old Council consisted of seven Labour members and nineteen Liberals and Independents. The new Council consists of seventeen Liberals, five Labour, and four Independents, though most of the lastnamed are Labour sympathisers. Mr R, D. Meagher was re-elected.
