Own Correspondent. The first shipment of Marokopa Dairy Company's butter arrived in Auckland at the grading stores last week, and was successful in securing first grade for the lot. At the monthly meeting of directors of the Dairy company, the chairman's action (Mr Smith), of making terras with Bray Bros., as regards the consigning of the butter was confirmed. By the way the firm has given the local company a guarantee to receive a higher price for the product than the Te Kuiti factory. Suppliers aie evidently pleased with this as a vision of a bonus for the season are areadly looming on the horizon. The annual meeting of the Te Anga Saleyards Company is to be held on the 30th inst. This company Has been very successful since its inception, and the facilities offered by the yards being in the district has been takan advantage of by a large number of settlers. A tennis club is being established here and the preparation of a sand court for the season is how well in hand, and it is anticipated that .play will commence in a few weeks' time. A club has also been started at Kinohaku, and it is safe to aver that several matches will eventuate during the season. The material for the erection of a private telephone line from the Kiritehere to Marokopa is now on order. Negotiations are proceeding with the Government for the supply of machines and are in the hands of Mr F. J. Templeman. Shearing is being carried out by a large number of settlers, who are taking advantage of the present spell of fine weather. The Marokopa shipping syndicate's A.S. Dawn, Capt. J. Williamson, is expected within the course of a few days. The vessel has had rather a lengthy trip from Onehunga, unfavourabl weather being experienced. The first visit of the new vessel is being eagerly looked forward to. This adventure of local settlers is being looked at with interest by the usual ones who dnnt' like to venture until such times as success has been achieved, and it is therefore to be hoped that the new syndicate and captain will be favoured with all sorts of good luck, as the carrying out of this project certainly ranks as one of the most important tackled by BeUlers
