MINERS' STRIKE AVERTED.

A SECRETARY'S [DISMISSAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association,— Copy r J i:M< Sydney, Monday. All the southern collieries were idle to-day. The men held an aggregate meeting for the purpose of discussing the dismissal of Russell, the secretary of the Mount Kembla Miners' Lodge. The men carried resolutions declaring that Russell had been wrongfully dismissed, and pledging themselves to secure his reinstatement, and an amendment to industrial law to prevent the discharge of employees without the employers giving fair reason. All the unions have been asked to support the resolutions. The threatened crisis has been averted and the\ miners resume tomorrow.
