Own Correspondent. There passed away peacefully Mrs Cnwell, mother of Mrs Hobson, at her residence on Friday morning, after along and trying illness. The Congregational Church are having a basket social and concert in the Town Hall on Wednesday, 27th inst., at 8 p.m. It is hoped that many will take advantage of this social gathering.
Now that the roads are drying up, it is earnestly expected that our local authurity will see to the metalling of the dangerous parts of our main and by roads. At present there are some parts very dangerous, where slips have occurred druing the past excessive rains.
