During the Eight Hours' Demonstration at Newcastle, after strong speeches, intermingled with cries of "Turn them out," a resolution was adopted condemning the Government for not introducing an Eight-hour Bill.
Mr Beeby defended the Government, and announced that tho Bill would be introduced at the earliest possible op-
portunity. Mr Peter Bowling, referring to tho trouble at tho southern collieries over the discharge of a man from one of the companies, decared that the Government would have to reinstate him or the unionß would, no matter what the cost.
