The Marokopa Dairy Company commenced operations on tho 12th inst., and despite the fearful state of the roads a fair supply was forthcoming. For a few weeks cream will only be collected twice weekly. The outlook for the season is exceptionally promising, and there is every probability that the directors will have (o face the question of enlarging the premises and plant. Tenders close on Novem her 4th. and plans may be seen at the Public Works office, Te Kuiti. Wj understand that negotiations are proceeding for the erection of an up-to-date Opera House in the main street, and particular attention will bo given to stage accommodation and conveniences. The proposed building should be a valuable addition to the architecture of the borough. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church has appointed next Sunday as "Youth of the Church Day." In all churches special services are to be held, and prominence given to the work among the young people of the church. Among this year's Public Works Estimates appears a vote of £l5O for drainage water and lighting in connection with the Government buildings at Te Kuiti, and a similar amount for installing the same services in the courthouse, while an amount of £9OO is voted for the. -erection of a courthouse at Otorohanga. Provision for the police station to be erected at Otorohanga is made on the Estimates to the amount of £IOOO.
In connection with the postal and telegraph votes on the Estimates additions to To Kuiti oflice are provided for up to £:U)0, while a vote of £I6OO is made for the erection of a new office at Awakino.
