BOWLING AND CROQUET CLUB.
A committee meeting of the above club was held in the Chronicle office last evening. Mr C. Stevens (president) occupied the chair. The report dealing with the recent ball was read and showed that a profit of £8 10s. had been made. Mr Spencer's resignation as a member of the club was accepted with regret. It wa& resolved that the ball accounts as read be passed for payment, and that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the ladies' committee, for the good work dona by them. Several accounts were passed for payment, the same to b2 met as funds permit. Mrs Huddlestone wa3 re-elected secretary to the ladies' committee, and the following were- appointed memfters of that committee: —• Mesdames Porter, Power, Vercoe, Jordan, Cowan and Dransfield. At the request of the ladies committee it was resolved that they be allowed to elect lady members. Resolved that, weather permitting, the official opening of the clubs hould take place on Thursday, October 24 th. Several other matters were discussed. and it was decided to leave same for further discussion until the general meeting, which will be held in the Chronicle office on October 24th at 7.30 p.m.
