KIO KIO.

Own Correspondent,

Matters iri connection with the Puketarata public hall were advanced another step last wsek when the order was sent to the timber mill. Tenders for the erection of the building are invited in this issue. The Kio Kio station road was the cause of several breakdowns last weke. Last Monday the creamery waggon, loaded with two days' cream, had scarcely started on its daily venture when it sank to the body- in the mud. Help was forthcoming at once, but it was not till after the train had gone that the waggon was extricated. It seemed as though £SO worth of cream would be spoiled, but it was put aboard the late train by which it reached Hamilton, fortunately in good condition. The King Country is indeed badly treated when the chief product of a flourishing district cannot be carted in safety over such an important road as that leading direct from creamery to railway station.
