HAYWAIiD'S I'CTUKKS
An exceptionally lino programme was produced at the Town Hall last night before a largo attendance. ''Charlie Colnm and the Knave of Spades" occupied nearly half of the second part of the programme. The marvellous situations ami tremendous f realism were a triumph in picture art, and the wonderful disguises and marvellous escapes o.f the Knave of Spades aroused tho audi mice to a high state of excitement. To-night and Monday another line prorganimc will bo screened, which includes .some very fine exclusive films. Among the more prominent" is "The Traitress," by the celerated Nordisk Company of Copenhagen, including Miss Asta Neilson, the well-known actress in the title role. The story is of unusual merit and interest, dealing with incidents of the Franco-Brit,isii war, all'ording unlimited opportunities for thrilling military action and romance. Other strong dramatics will also be thrown oil tho screen. These are "Tho Stolen Grey" and "in the Time of tho Druids." Tho comcdv and comic elements will make up the rest of the programme.
CURLE'S PICTURES. On Wednesday evening at the Alexandra Rink a splendid programme of up-to-date films will be produced. The star picture, "Their Lives for Gold," is a truly remarkable film, simply holding the onlookers spell bound from start to finish. "The Spirit Awakened" is another splendid drama and a treat in itself. "The Los Angeles Pi re Brigade" is a lino educational picture. depicting the doings of the most successful and best, organised brigades in the world. Wild animal pictures are always good, but the "New Woman and the Lion" will simply make you weep- I hey say Mrs Jones' husband is running yet. The balance of the programme is tip-top and a visit to the Alexandia Kink on Wednesday evening will be time well spent.
