PADDOCK SALES SYSTEM. WORK OF A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. Extremly valuable wo-k is being done in the district by the King Country A. and P. Association in the direction of acquiring infomation as to the probable amount of stock which will be fattened in the various localities. By acquiring this knowledge it will be possible fo the Association to arrange with Buyers to visit the different localities instead of having to ship the fat stock to market with the chance of it meeting a bad sale and the consequent heavy loss. Circulars to the number of two hundred and forty were issued, but hitherto only thirty replies have been received. Everything considered the indications are extremely promising, Vte returns to hand showing that among thirty two owners it is anticipated that 17,000 sheep and 1,100 cattle will be fattened this season. It is highly desirable that settlers throughout the district should furnish the desired returns aa soon as possible. Co-operation in this respect is felt to be altogether in the interests of the farmers, the object being to .*„■* long standing drawback.
