BACK BLOCK LOCAL BODIES.
CONFERENCE ON WEDNESDAY
The initial conference of the back blocks local bodies for the purpose of forming an association with the object of co-operating when occasion arises, for their mutual benefit is fixed to take place at Te Kuiti on Wednesday next. Owing to the distance to be travelled and the fact that merely formal business in connection with forming the association will probably be undertaken at the first conference, it is probable that representatives from some of the more distant counties, such as Clifton and Whangamomona, will not be present. These bodies have signified their intention of joining the association, and are fully in sympathy with the movement. In all likelihood a further conference will be held in the near future, at which remits from the various local bodies will be accepted and discussed.
