CURLE'S PICTURES
A splendid programme of films is to be presented at the Skating Rink tonight, by the above company. "Sports" will welcome the appearance of the picture depicting this year's great race,"The Royal Ascot." The dramas are the productions of the best manufacturers, and are full of Bensational and pathetic situations. The comedies and comics are of the usual order —the best. The Gazette will be found to contain something of interest to everyone. The complete programme is a real feast for picturelovers and should be the means of drawing a large house. HAYWARD'S PICTURES.
On Friday evening next at the Town Hall, a compltete change of programme will be presented, and some speciallly attractive pictures will be screened. The dramatic section contains some very artistic productions, the sentiment being sound and the scenic effects admirable, and some beautiful scenic studies will also be screened. "A Cure for Pokeritis" is the star comedy featuring Mr John Bunny and is calculated to keep the audience free from dull thoughts. "A Gipsy's Honour" is a very fine coloured dramatic. "Sphinx" is stated to be the Vitagraph Company's latest dramatic success. and depicts a thrilling story. There are many other splendid films in this series, including "Carnival at Nice, 1912," "Hydroplanes v. Motor Boats," and "Dieppe Motor Race." Picture patrons who wish to see a really first-class entertainment should attend the Town Hall on Friday next.
ROMAN CATHOLIC SOCIAL. To-morrow in the Town Hall a thoroughly enjoyable evening is promised by the committee in charge of arrangements for the abo"e social. The last function waa an unqualified success and a continuance of previous success is looked for to-morrow evening. The proceeds are in aid of the -local church fund. It has been denuded by the committee that the children shall have a treat on the following evening when the foodstuff left over from the social will be handed to the children in Mrs Robertson's Cosy tea rooms in the form of a tea meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. The children are asked to take this notice aa an invitation to the tea meeting.
