MATCH AGAINST FRY'S TEAM
A POOR FIRST INNINGS

The Australians commenced a match to-day against an eleven chosen by C. B. Fry. Batting first on a good wicket the colonial wore all dismissed for 72. Barnes took six wickets for 27 and Relf foour for 14. The English team made IG\ for four wickets before stumps were drawn. Received this day, 11.15 a.m. London, Friday. The English team's innings concluded for 280.
In the second innings the Australians made a much better showing, and when stumps were drawn had scored 196 for three wickets, Jennings 14, Kelleway 38, Macartney 71, Bardsley 51. The batting was free and confident and the wicket good Hitch broke Kelleway's leg stump.
