WAIKAKA.

Own Correspondent,

We are having ideal lambing weather here at present. Young lambs are to be seen on quite a number of selections, and if the present spell of fine weather continues we may expect some good percentages. Messrs Hunter and McFadgen have recently erected a very substantial woolshed with accommodation for 600 sheerj. The wool shed was designed and erected by Mr F. McFadgen. who intends to have shearing machines installed shortly. Mr James McGrath is also erecting a very fine woolshed which, when completed, will meet all present requirements.

I hope our member, Mr Wilson, will pay us a visit when he can spare the time, as our roads are in a deplorable state, and as he states that he is a back blocks member, we want him to make a name for himself, as we are all staunch Masseyites at this end. Mr F. Seccombe is having an extended holiday, and his manager does not expect him back before shearing. Messrs Bailey and Co. felling 600 acres of bush for Messrs Seccombe Bros, this winter.

Quite a largo area of felled bush totalling some thousands of acres, remains unburnt from last summer owing to the wet, season. It is to be hoped that the coming summer will be more favourable than its predecessor, and give settlers a chance to get their bush burnt.
