The Washington correspondent of the Times reports that Mr Roosevelt is visiting every State in the union. The proceedings at the recent Convention of the National Progressive party at Chicago greatly impressed Mr Roosevelt's opponents, but Mr Woodrow Wilson is still the general favourite.

Mr Roosevelt's Convention ended in equalising the odds upon Mr Taft and himself for second place. It is regarded as very significant that a radical third party should be considered to have an even chance of becoming the second party after November next.
