WEDDING BELLS.

DONS—LOVEDAY. Own Correspondent. Mangaroa held holiday on July 25th on the occasion of the marriage of Miss E. Loveday, eldest daughter of Mr G. Loveday, of Mahorahora, chairman of Ohura County Council, to Mr P. N, Dons, of Mangakara, being the first marriage celebrated in the Ohura Methodist Church. All shops and business places were closed in ccebration of the occasion. The school children, in charge of their teacher, Mr Mooney, were present. Crs Risk, Sandison and Currie represented the County Council. Messrs Harland, engineer, and Mr Clenaghan. clerk, were also present. Mr Shorland. manager of the Union Bank, represented the banking institutions. The Ohura Cooperative Dairy Co. was represented by the chairman of directors, and Mr j! L. Robinson. The A. and P. Association was represented by the president and secretary. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. 11. Kendon. The bride was attended by her sister Miss M. Loveday and Miss Lorna Williams as bridesmaids being given away by her brother, Mr Leslie Loveday. Mr G. H. Metcalfe was groomsman and Mr W. Robinson organist. The bride was dressed In cream silk, trimmed with all-over lace with satin facings, _ veil and j orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of cream roses, maiden hair ferns and lycopodiums. Miss M. Loveday was attired in a dress of violet velvet with girdle, trimmed with silk all-over lace and carried a bouquet of marguerites, snow drops and lycopodiums. Refreshments were provided by Mr and Mrs W. K. Williams at their residence, Mangaroa, after which the happy couple rode to Ongarue en route to the South Island for their honeymoon.
