Mr Deakin's censure motion was negatived by 35 to 25. During the course of the debate Mr Hugheß announced that the shipping companies had withdrawn their action for testing the Anti-Trust Act, arising out of the Coal Vend cafe, and had paid all fines and costs, totalling over £16,000.
