HILL AND CHAMPION BEATEN. MISS DURACK ESTABLISHES A RECORD. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—CopyriK&t Stockholm, Wednesday. At the Olympic Games in the 100 metres ladies' swimming championship, Mias Wilhelmina Wylie and Miss Fanny Durack, of Sydney, won their heats, Miss Duraclc in 79 4-ssecs —a record. In thel 500 metres semi-final the first heat was won by Hodgson, Canada, with H. Hardwick, New South Wales, third. In the second heat Las Torres, Hungary, was first, and -M. Champion, New Zealand, second. Longworth, Sydney, did not start.

In the final of the 400 metres relay flat race Britain won in 42sccs, Sweden being second. A. Jackson, Britain, won the 1500 metres championship in 5.57 a world's record. G. N. Hill, New Zealand, did not qualify for the final. H. Kolehmainen, Finland, won the 5000 metres in 14.36 2-5 also a world's record.

Hill was fourth in his heat, but did not qualify for the final. Hill retired in the 10th lap in his heat in the 10,000 metres.

Murray, Australia, retired at a mile and threequarters in the 10,000 walk.

Atkinson. Australia, qualified for the final of the 200 metres breaststroke championship.

Stewart, Australia, ran a dead-heat with Macintosh, Britain, in his heut in the first round o£ the 200- metres championship. T. Mac Donald, America, won the weight-putting with a put of 15.34 metres —a record.
