1 Newton King reports:— On July 21st I had a good entry of ' in my Waiwakaiho yards with a good enquiry—Yearling steers 24s 6d to 325, yearling heifers 38s to £3 Bs, mixed yearlings 29s 6d, aged cows 20s to 30s, store cows £3 Is. to £j3 15a, fat cows £5 ss, guaranteed dairy cows £5 15s to £7 2s, threequarter cows £2 10s to £3 5s springing dairy heufers, choice 3 years, £6 13s to £7 169, good 2 years £3 15s to £4 13s Gd, fat ewes 14s Id, hoggets 7s 9d,-2 tooth wethers 11 s6d to 12s. A line of cows on account of Mr T. R.. Say well realised from £4 to £6 15s. At Urenui on July 24th there was a fair yarding with a good attendanceSi tooth to full mquth ewes realised fiom lis to 12s 6d;. hoggets 10s 6d, good yearling steers £2 2s 6d to £3 6s 6d, yearlings, mixed 325, empty 20 months heifers £3,10s to £3 17s, 20 months to 2 year steers £3 8s 6d to £3 17s 6fJ, stags £3 10s, store cows £2 to £3 6s 6d, forward cows £4— 7s, in calf 20 month heifers £3 14s 6d, springing heifers £5 to £5 10s, dairy cows £4 17s 6d to £6 10s, fat bullocks £8 10s. ; On the same day in my Douglas yards I had a fair lot of cattle and about 500 sheep yarded. Bidding throughout was good, everything being cleared with the excopiton of two small lines of 20 months in calf heifers. A private dairy herd on account of Mr Arthur Walter met with very good competition from £5 2s 6d to £lO 10s, and on account of the same vendor cows in milk £4 15s to £5, weaner heifers 325, spring cart £5 10s, mixed yearlingß showing a lot of bad colour 235, empty 20 months heifers £3 8s 6d to £3 15s, store cows £3 8s to £4 48 6d, 20 months steers£3 lis, 2 tooth to full mouth ewes in lamb 9s lid to 10s lldj full mouth ewes in. lamb ss, fat mixed ewes and ftethers 16s sd, small wethers 10s, rams ss, dairy cows £8 to £9, in calf 2} to 3 year heifers, good £6 2s tu £6 13s 6d, backward £4 17s 6d to £5 10s, choice 2 year in calf heifers '£s ss. On the same day on the lower Duthie road for Mr W. Standish's clearing sale I had a very good attendance with a keen demand for the dairy cows, which realised from £8 10s to £l2 15s, for best quality, second grade £4 10s to £7 ss, threequarter cows £4 5s to £6, empty cows £4 2s. In my Stratford yards on July 25th I had a good yarding of store cattle with a good demand throughout for most classes. Enquiry was best for good fresh cows, 20 months steers and empty heifers—Aged cows from 20s to 355, store cows £2 18s to £3 10s, forward cows £4 to £4 15s, fat cows , £5 6s to £5 15s, empty 20 months heifers £3 8s 6d to £3 14s 6d, according to size and quality, yearling steers 23s to 335, yearling Jersey heifers , £3 10s, yearling grade heifers 355, 20 months coloured steers £2 7s to £3 3s 20 months steers good £3 15s 6d, mixed yearlings Sis 6d to 425, 2$ year steers £4 13s, 3 to 3 year bullocks £5 6s to £5 15s, bulls £4 8a to £5, 20 months heifers in calf £3 18s. In my Stratford pens on the- name day I sold without reserve a line of in calf heifers on account .of Mr J. Levandowski and a line of dairy cows pn account of Mr H. Chadwick. The attendance was very large. Most .of the heifers offered were rising 2 year olds and in goo J condition. A few 3 year heifers were | offered birnging up to £lO, best ' Jersey-Holtsein 2 year heifers met with good competition, selling from £6 to £8 10s, good £4 10s to £5 15s, small and late *o £3 17s 6d, dairy cow» on account of Mr H. Chadwick from £7 5s to £ll ss, old £2 12s 6d to £6, on accost of other vendors in calf heifers £5 2s 6d to £5 10s, empty heifers £3 10s. ' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report:— At Hamilton on June 27th. fat wethers made 17s 6d, forward wethers 14s 4d to 15s 9d, fat ewes lis 9d to 12s 6d, dairy cows £5 15s to £7 ss, springing heifer £7, killable cows £5 2s 6d.

At Ngaruawahia on June 28th, 518 head of cattle came forward, including 200 3 to 4 year steers. Prices —Grown steers in forward condition £7 lis, 3) year steers £5 14s to £6 10s, "3 year steers £5 4s to £5 7s 6d, fat cows £5 9s to £6 17s, 18 months empty heifers £3 12s 6d to £3 19s, yearling heifers £2 7s to £2 12s 6d, mixed calves 34s to 41s, 3 year heiferß in calf £6 to £6 12s 6d, dairy cows £5 tc £5 17s 6d, 2 tooth wethers 9s.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— AtHairini on 28th ult., we held a clearing sale on account of Mr Pat Coyle, whose lease has expired. There was a large attendance and bidding was brisk. We quote—Forward bullocks £7 15s, 2i year bullocks £5, 18 months to 2 year steers £4, cows £6 to £9 12s 6d, heifers £4 to £, 72 tooth ewes in lamb 14s 9d, f.i.m. do. lis, hoggets lis Bd, unbroken-geldings £5 10s to £lO, implements, furniture, etc.. made good prices. On Saturday 29th we held our annual sale in the Te Awamutu yards, when there was a good yarding and a large attendance. Bidding was good for cows and heiferß close to profit. Backward and small were not wanted. We quote—Cows £5 15s to £9 2s 6d, 3 year heifers in® calf £5 10s to £8 15s, 2 year heifers in calf £4 to, £7 10s, fat cows £5 7s 6d to £5 15s, good calves 36s to 455, yearlings £2 14s to £3, 18 month cattle £3 Bs, cows and calves £4 10s to £7 15s. We hgld our usual fortnightly sale in the Obaupo yards on the Ist inst., when we hod a fair yarding. We quoto—2, 4 and 6 tooth wethers 15s, milking cows £3 10s to £4 5s good calves 33s to 355, poor calves 10s 6d.
