This j • film has received favourable criticism in other centres and is over 3000 ft in length. The usual comic, educational, ( dramatic and topical pictures will be , shown. i POLLER'S PICTURES. To-morruW evening the Curie Picturff Co. will show the above pictures at the Alexandra Skating Rink when an entirely new series will be submitted. The star picture is entitled "Thrown to the Lions." Amongst the other films shown will be "Aeroplane Elopement," "English. Lakes," etc. A seat has been selected by the Chronicle, and the occupant of that Beat will receive ten shillings from - the management. fHE ENGLISH PIERROTS. The English Pierrot, under the direction of Messrs Will and Robb Thomas and Mavnard Dakin, announce a one night season at the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, when a programme of musical excellence, and high standard is promised. Doubtless, many retain pleasant recollectons of this combination last year, and will welcome the return visit of the company. The whole of the items to be presented are stated to be entirely new, and'many have been specially written by members of the company. Humorous songs, duets, trios, and ensembles, sentimental songs, coon songs and choruses, musical monologues, dramatic recitals.. concerted items, instrumental selections, form the principal features in their ] entertainments. The English Pierrots have been given splendid receptions in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane for the past eight years daring which time they have given over 2000 performances. A feature of the programme is the musical sketches, into ~ which, states the management, are 7 introduced clever witticisms and smart patter, free* from vulgarity. The v entertainments are all the vogue in England and on the Continent, where are greatly appreciated. The box plan is now open at Mr McColl's.
