POLITICAL REFORM LEAGUE.
TE KUITI BRANCH FORMED
A meeting was held in the Municipal Hall, Te Kuiti, on Thursday evening for the purpose of forming a branch of the political Reform League. There was a good attendance and Mr E. Martin presided.
In opening the meeting the chairman referred to the desirability of uniting and called upon Mr Lindergreen, official organiser of the Reform party to explain the aims and objects of the League.
Mr Lindergreen explained what had been donq in other districts and said it had been decided to work the Taumarunui electorate in two divisions, one centre at Waitara the other at Te Kuiti. He detailed the work in connection with the formation of a branch. On the motion of Mr Somerville, seconded by Mr Wall, it was decided that a branch of the League be formed. The following officers were then appointed President, Mr J. Wall; vice-presidents, Messrs Gadsby, Lorigari, Martin, Somerville and Graham; secretary, Mr H. Mussent treasurer. Mr Brathwaite. It was announced that Mr Lindergreen would be glad to receive the names of all who wished to become members of the League, and a large number of names were handed in.
