At Hamilton on Sth inst., fat cows made £5 lis to £6 12s, killable cows £5 to £5 2s (id, cows in fresh condition £3 103 to £4 ss, 3 year Shorthorn heifers in calf £6 103, Holstein heifers in calf £6 17s, small 2 year heifers in calf £4 to £4 ss, yearling steers £2

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report — At Hikutaia on 3rd inst., we had only a imall yarding—33o head of cattle audi 50 sheep. At Tirau on sth inst., we yarded 400 head of cattle and 235 sheep. Good framed full mouth ewes in lamb made 2s 3d, aged ewes 9s 2d to 10s Id, hoggets 8s lid to lis, forward 1 and 6 tooth wethers 14s 3d, fat and forward steers £7 Bs. fresh 3 year steers £6, 2J to 3 year steers £4 4s to £4 7s, 8 months steers £3 2s 6d to £4 ss, empty 15 to 18 months heifers £2 9s to £2 12s, springing heifers £5 5a to £7 ss, store cows 35s to £3 2s 6d, fresh cows £3 5s to £4 10s, calves 17s 6d to 265, springing cow £6 to £7 12 fid.
At Karamu on stb inst., we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr D. Moroney, when we offered his 700 acre farm, subdivided into eight sections. However, none of the land quite reached owners' expectations. The 200 dairv cows sold from £5 5s to £ll ss, dairy heifers £4 5s to £6 ss, heifer calves 46s store cowa £3 10s, implements, tools, etc. at usual rates. HIGH COMMISSIONERS' CABLEGRAM.
EFFECTS OF THE STRIKE,

The High Commisisoner's cablegram, dated June Bth, is as follows, quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot: —• The general strike continues, and cargos are being discharged slowly. The supply of meat meets demand. The Turakina's shipment of butter and cheese has been landed.
Mutton.— Canterbury 4Jd nominal, North Island 4d.
Lamb. —Canterbury 7d, other, than Canterbury 6Jd. Beef.— New Zealand hinds 4fd fores 3-2 d. Butter.—-The market is quiet but firm. New Zealand white 73a, coloured 745; Canadian 695; English cheddar 90s.
Hemp.—The market is quiet but steady. Spot, New Zealand good fair £22 fair £2O 15s, fair current Manila £ 22 10s; forward shipment about the same. The output from Manila for the week was 27000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 233 tons. Hops.—The market is strong.
