AMUSEMENTS.

EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY

Mr Gillespie having disposed of all his interests in the moving picture business to Mr R. Hayward, of Hayward's Pictures, the Empire Picture Company will cease to exist from Monday next. Hayward's Pictures will take its place. The name of Hayward is so well known all over the Dominion and Australia as proprietors of picture theatres, that it foes without saying that in their capable hands the many Te Kuiti patrons of the Empire Company will be even better catered for in the future than they have been in the past, as it is M r Hayward's intention to put nothing but the very latest and best pictures, the same as produced at the Lyric and Royal Albert in Auckland, and Hayward's theatres in Waihi, Thames and other towns of importance. The first production under the new firm will take place on Monday evening next, when the star piece will be a great exclusive 3000-feet picture en titled, "The Crime and the Criminal," described by the press of New Zealand as one of the prettiest and most exciting photo-plays ever produced in the Dominion. Its success everywhere has been phenomenal, and will, we feel sure, also be in Te Kuiti. A very powerful programme will support this great star piece. We wish Mr Hayward every success in his nawly-acquired business.
