POLO CLUB BALL.
j A ball under the auspices of the Te Kuiti Folo Ciub wes held in the Town Hall cn Wednesday evening. The weather was fine and there was an excellent attendance, about- fifty couples gracing the lioor. A considerable number of visitors from other centres attended among other being Messrs Fisher, M.F., and Bell, of Wellington. Music wan supplied by Mr Stevens of Hamilton, piano and violin renectively, and dancing was m nintained with vigour until an early hour. An excellently served supper was provided by the ladies. The following is a description of seme of the dresses worn: -Mrs Vcrcoe, electric blue taffeta relieved with white iace; Mrs Darrow. prune coloured velvet; Mrs Mussen, black silk, honitan lace; Mrs Spencer, white satin; Mrs Lissanian, Maltese blue silk, black and gold embroidered opera coat; Mrs B. Jordan, white crepe do chene, touches of pale blue; Mrs Fullerton white satin, tunic of white lace over pink, pink sash; Mrs Charlton, black taffeta with blue fichu: Mrs Alec. Johnston, royal blue silk, overskirt of i black nnion; Mrs JBroadfoot, white) satin, tunic of silver; Mrs Mostyn j Jones, cream satin, scarf and sash of j steel-beaded gauze; Mrs Fisher (Wei- | lintgon), old rose satin with cream j lace; Mrs Sharpies, vieux rose, overskirt and betha of pale shade; Mrs A Julian, crushed strawberry silkcashmere, oriental embroidery with silver fringe; Airs F. Julian, pretty white satin, tunic of opalescent ninon : Mr" Hammond, white satin: Mrs Fitzherbert, white silk trimmed white fringe and pink flowers; Mrs McKenzie, dainty white ninon with Irish crochet lace bertha; Miss McGoverri (Te Awamutu), altell pink silk, overskirt of piped chiffon with black velvet rosettes; Miss Smith, pretty white islk, tunic finished with white silk frinzge, red flowers; Miss Graham, salmon pink with prettv overdress of shaded blue beaded chiffon; Miss Turton, white silk, panels floral ribbon and overskirtof silver spangled net; Miss I. Jordan, soft white silk finished with silver bugle lace; Miss Sinclair, lovely frock of white embroidered net over pale blue, blue ceinture; Miss Ivy Graham, white satin, tunic of flowered ninon; Miss Board (Hanagtiki), black silk relieved with pale blue; Miss Sellars (Auckland), pale blue silk, blue chiffon panniers and white lace; Miss Brown, pretty blue crepe de chen; Miss D. Brown, pale lavender silk trimmed darker velvet and violets; Miss M. Taylor (Cambridge), dainty white silk with corded silk trimming; Miss Pine, black ninon; Mrs Howarth, old gold trimmed with brown fur; Miss I. Pine, grey silk with steel bead lace; Miss Williams (Russell) shell pink silk; Miss Gould, blue taffeta with fichu and straps of silver spangled net; Miss Spencer, pretty salmon pink satin; Miss Honan, blue silk, fskirt draped j with blue chiffon; MissAyres, pretty j pale blue silk corded with black and j black buttons. ;
