i'ou place a ball on a little pile, i'ou hit it away about half a mile,; The further it goes the more you smile, Then you wander after it—single file— That's Golf. Ton hurl a ball with all your might, The batsman hits it —out of sight ; 'hen he with cudgel showeth flight ; fou keep this up from morn till night — " That's Cricket. Ton kick about a hag of air,, 7hen after it you madly tear ; Someone kicks you, which is not fair, Then the referee shouts, " Fou? there !" — That's Football. 'Two gents and two ladies" hit a tiny ball, \nd over a net shout, "'Thirty all !" Vway flies the ball o'er a garden wall ; Then you go and look for it, one and all— That's Tennis. fou roll a bowl on a grassy track, ind smile as you see it touch the jack, four opponent then hits it a merry whack ; 3ays, "See, Bill Bailey, got my own back !" That's Bowls. fou get a cue and chalk it o'er, Strike a dignified air o'er a matted floor ; Say, "Boys, I'll run up a heavy score," 3ut bang goes the spot outside the door — That's Billiards.
