TE KUITI TOWN BAND.

DEPUTATION TO COUNCIL. At last night's meeting of the Borough Council a deputation consisting of the Rev. R. B. Gosnell, Messrs Robinson, Fletcher and McDonald waited on the council with the request that the council should support the scheme and act as trustees. The deputation urged the advisability of band, and pointed put that a sum of £2O was already in sight for the purpose. If the council would subsidise the movement to the extent of £3O the necessary instruments coald be obtained to make a start. Crs Young, Tammadge, Forsyth, Lusk, Julian and Floyd spoke in support of the object, and it was decided that provision should be made on the next estimates towards the funds of the band.
