FOOTBALL.
MANIPOTO RUGBY UNION. The management committee of the above union met in the Chronicle office on Wednesday evening last, Mr Worthington in the chair. The following correspondence was dealt with —From the Mangapehi Club re affiliation and insurance. From Mr S. Williamson,Kaeaea,notiying the committee that the Kaeaea Club wished to affiliate with the Maniapoto Rugby Union; the Pio Pio Club also wrote on the same lines. They also requested the union to allow them (three clubs) to form a Western branch of the Maniapoto Rugby Union. —It was resolved that the following suggestions as to the footing upon which these teams should be included, should be forwarded to the three clubs in question: —l. Th 9 affiliation of the three new clubs (Pio Pio, Kaeaea and Aria, be agreed to and that they be known as B section and that the original teams entered he known as the section.2. That the fixtures be drawn to allow the B section to play two or three rounds, the winners to play off with the winners of the section for the trophies presented by the union.
The Hangatiki club forwarded a list of 41 names for registration. The draw for the club matches resulted as follows :
May 18.—Tanehopuwni v. Mangapehi, Waimiha v. Te Kuiti, Otorohanga a bye. May 25.—T"e Kuiti v. Otorohanga, Mangapehi v. Waimiha ; Tanehopuwai a bye. June 1. —Otorohanga v. Waimiha, Tanehopuwai v. Te Kuiti, Mangapehi a bye. June 8. —Waimiha v. Tanehopuwai, Mangapehi v. Otorohanga, Te Kuiti a bye. June 15. —'Otorohanga v. Tanehopuwai, Te Kuiti v. Mangapehi, Waimiha a bye.
