HOCKEY.

Hockey seems to he taking on this season in Te Kuiti. In the men's club there will be a Saturday team and a Thursday team, and the ladies have sufficient members for two teams. The members of each club are very enthusiastic and much is expected from them before the season concludes. The opening of the season will take place at Cotter's paddock tomorrow afternoon when a series of games will be rJayed. The Thursday men's ieam will play the Saturdays, and the ladies have arranged a Captain v. Vice-captain match. Afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies, and with fine weather, a most enjoyable afternoon should be spent. Hockey is a good healthy winter pastime, and it is hoped that the game will be supported by thp public in the manner which all healthy outdoor sport should be. The following are the men's teams, the ladies appearing on page 3: Saturday. Humphrey, Lisasman, Evans, Smerdon, Semmins, Clapham, Anderson, Gadsby, Hitchcock, F. Matthews, W. Hetet.
