MANY SHOT DEAD

A clash occurred in San Dieog, California, to-day between the police and the Independent A'orkors of the World, a Socialist; organisation which is fomenting industrial disturbances along the Pacific Coast.
A number of armed citizens turned out when the riot, call was sounded, and during the subsequent skirmish many of the Industrial Workers were shot, some being killed on the spot and others badly wounded. Two policemen were killed and several injured. A PENNSYLVANIA FIGHT. New York, Thursday. At Pottsville, Pennsylvania, during strike disturbances the police fired on a mob of 3000 persons, three men being fatally shot and numbers of others injured, including several police. A woman onlooker received a bullet in her arm. The riot started when the colliery superintendent sought to take two strike breakers in his automobile to work.
