The question of establishing a system of medical, physical inspection of school children, which has been discussed for some time paßt, has taken concrete shape, Mr Hanan having submitted proposals to Cabinet, which have been approved, for the purchase of weighing machines. The appointment of two medical inspectors has also been authorised. Mr Hanan has been giving some attention to the question of extending facilities for free education of at the universities. Cabinet, decided to extend the principle of education by onening the door to university bursaries more widely.
