AUCKLAND HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.

CHARGE AGAINST STAFF.

ENQUIRY TO BE HELD.

[nv tkljKuraph.—muss association.] Auckland, This Day.

The Hospital fand Charitable Aid Board has received a letter from the Auckland Tramways Sick and Accident Fund Committee asking for an inquiry into the circumstances of the death in the hospital of one of its members who was treated for appendicitis and died of tetanus.

The allegation is being made that the member was placed in the same ward as a tetanus patient. (

Dr Inglis, hospital surgeon, asserted the latter statement was absolutely untrue. He realised the nerious nature of the charge made and the staff would welcome an inquiry.

The board has appointed a committee to investigate the case and the enquiry is to be open to the press.
