PIO PIO.
Own Correspondent,
A meeting of householders was held on Monday evening for the election uf a school committee. There was a fair attendance and Mr W. D. Hattaway was voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet was read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £lO odd and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the outgoing committee for their good work in getting the school erected. The following committee was elected : —Messrs H. G. Andrews, G. J. Bevege, G. Elliott, W. D. Hattaway, J. Smith, W. E. Johnston and F. Willis. The new committee met after the householders' meeting and Mr Elliott was elected chairman and Mr Johnston secretary and treasurer for the year.
Mr Ferguson's new bakery is going ahead. The frame is up and the bricklayers are busy with the building of the oven. Judging by appearances the building will be a credit to the district, and fill a long-felt want.
