Mr Nicholls was elected a local preacher, and Messrs Taylor and Brockway society stewards. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell reported that in conjunction with Mr Nicholls he had inspected several properties and they had purchased one just over the river.—The meeting endorsed the action and a subscription list was opened in the meeting and over £SO was subscribed right away, the meeting being very enthusiastic in the matter.
The Rev. Gittos, father of the Maori work and two Maori ministers were present, and on thfl invitation of the meeting Father Gittos presided, and it was decided to devote Sunday night's collection to the Titanic disaster fund.
The Church is starting under very happy circumstances, and it is confidently expected to have a strong cause in Te Kuiti.
